Mrs. Dorothy Nyong’o, the First Lady of Kisumu County, has launched three day care centers in Kisumu for low income mothers as a strategy to help young mothers pursue their education during motherhood. President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed 34 judges and rejected 6 out of the 41 judges presented by the Judicial Service Commission in 2019. Remarks by President Uhuru Kenyatta during the June 1st Madaraka Day celebrations  in Kisumu has plunged the president into trouble with the court system in Kenya. An aircraft that dropped former Prime Minister, Honourable Raila Odinga, has crashed in Siaya sub-county at Akudho Primary School, Usenge village, Onyonyo sub-location in South Gem location. The crash occurred on Sunday, May 20th at 4.30 PM. The accident was reported by Captain Julius Mwambanga of Panel Air. James Ochieng Nyambok, a Kenyan resident in Stockholm, has passed away after a long sickness which led to kidney failure. According to information gathered by Kisumu City News, the late Ochieng passed away at Söder Hospital in Stockholm where he had been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit. Since his passing, Kenyans in Sweden have set up a Committee to help coordinate the transportation of Ochieng’s body to Kenya for burial. Six schools in Kisumu County will not be able to open because they are submerged in water. Kandaria Primary, Nyamrunda Primary, Ogenya Primary, Oseth Primary, Kandaria Mixed and Ombaka Mixed are all facing the risk of remaining closed in January because they are submerged in water.
